Why would my hormones be out of whack?
Why does the universe make being a woman so hard?!?!?

We have to deal with periods, cramps, pregnancy, childbirth, raising those children, and then - just when things start evening out - BAM - perimenopause, menopause, and post menopause with all the fun things that entails! The icing on the cake? Thanks to DNA altering agents our ancestors were exposed to, genetic modification of our foods, and plastics in our environment - among many other things - we now get to hit perimenopause and menopause earlier!
It's not just us - our kids are hitting puberty earlier and our men start decreasing their testosterone production as early as their 20s!

While we can't do much about the food and environment - we can offer you hormone replacement therapy to control your symptoms and help you live your BEST life NOW!
How would I know if my hormones are off?

We're finally done - or nearly done - raising our kids and suddenly everything hurts! We're gaining weight despite desperate attempts not to and it's a herculean effort to get any off! We're TIRED - bone tired. All the time! We don't sleep. We're getting headaches. Our hair is thinning! Our skin is getting crepey! We're retaining fluid, and our periods are all over the place. We can't even enjoy sex anymore - we're just not interested and when we try, it takes forever to get wet and it can hurt! We're getting hot flashes, can't remember anything, and feel like we're constantly in a fog. Life sucks and as many of us are Gen X or Millenials - it pisses us off and we're perpetually moody and irritable. Sound even a little bit familiar?

We get it! We may be able to help - with bio-identical hormone replacement therapy!
How would Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy help me?

Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy can reduce or improve the usual symptoms of perimenopause and menopause. The "usual symptoms" are things like hot flashes, brain fog, irritability, mood swings, low sex drive, vaginal dryness (that makes sex hurt), insomnia, and fatigue.
Recent research also suggests hormone replacement therapy may help protect against Alzheimer's disease, support bone health which reduces osteoporosis, be cardio protective, and improve cholesterol!

Frequently asked questions
What are the Health Risks with Hormone Replacement Therapy? There are minimal health risks with Hormone Replacement Therapy, as long as it is managed by a trained medical provider. Our Provider is specially trained in hormone replacement and optimization. We require that every patient gets a complete lab panel before beginning therapy to ensure your state of health and make sure there aren't other issues that could be causing your symptoms. We want to ensure that we are only offering Hormone Replacement Therapy to patients whom will benefit from it, and for whom it can be done safely and with minimal health risks. While we do use lab testing to help guide therapy and help with dosing, we feel that every person is different and their bodies function differently. We will treat YOU, not your lab values! One notable exception is if you have ANY history of an estrogen-responsive cancer, such as breast or endometrial - you are NOT a candidate for hormone replacement therapy.
Do you accept insurance? We do NOT accept or bill insurance. Hormone Replacement Therapy is often deemed "not necessary" by insurance carriers (as estrogen dominance will not kill you, just merely lower your quality of life) and they will not reimburse for it. You can use your HSA or FSA card to pay, however. Many insurance carriers WILL pay for hormone replacement therapy for post-menopausal patients for a set period of time, but there are limitations to the types they will reimburse for. We encourage you to check with your insurance carrier to determine their specific benefits and see a provider in their network if the options they cover will work for you!
What is the process? First, you'll come in for your initial consultation. You'll be speaking directly with our Provider whom will ask about your health history, explain the nuances of Hormone Replacement Therapy, and complete a physical exam. If you decide you want to continue with treatment, we will get labs. These typically take 2 days to come back. Once they are back, our Provider will reach out to you to discuss your results and you will determine together the treatment plan moving forward. This may be just hormones, or it may include thyroid optimization, vitamin supplementation, or other medical management. Then we will start you on bio-identical, natural hormones and check your labs again in 4-6 weeks. Those levels will help us determine if your dosing is correct, as well as assess your body's response to the hormone changes. If the dose is correct and there are no further issues that need to be addressed, you will not need labs again for a full year.
